Peer Review Process
All articles published in Matsnawi: Journal of Tasawwuf and Psychotherapy Studies undergo a peer-review process. The first review (review A) is based on an initial editor screening and check for plagiarism, which is followed by a deeper review (review B) by at least two reviewers.
Each submitted article is based on the following grounds:
- the originality of its contribution to the field of scholarly publishing;
- the soundness of its theory and methodology given the topic;
- the coherence of its analysis;
- its ability to communicate to readers (grammar and style).
Following the initial screening and plagiarism check performed by the Editor, all submitted articles will be forwarded to two reviewers for reviewing process. The first reviewer from IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (If the authors are not from the same institution) and the second one from outside of the institution or abroad. The peer-review process commonly takes two to four months. If revisions of peer review are required, more time will be added, depending on how long the author takes to revise the article.
The selection, invitation, and assignment of peer reviewers are at the Editor-in-Chief discretion. The reviewers must be knowledgeable about the subject area of the articles; they must not be from the Authors' own institution and they should not have recent joint publications with any of the Authors. Reviewers must not have a conflict of interest with respect to the research, the Authors, and/or the funding sources for the research. If such conflicts exist, the reviewers must report them to the Editor-in-chief immediately.
Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the Editor-in-chief without delay. Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments. Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
Once the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors shall transfer the copyright to the Publisher. If the submitted manuscript is not accepted for publication by the Journal, all rights shall be retained by the author(s).
