Abstract

In the novel "Negeri Para Bedebah," the lines between needs and greed blur, with both the working and capitalist classes relentlessly pursuing economic ambitions. This descriptive qualitative research uses relevant literature to analyze the novel, focusing on the critique of social classes. The novel illustrates the complexities of class disparities, with both classes entangled in a corrupt banking system to achieve their economic goals, highlighting the connection between modern human unhappiness and rampant greed. This perpetual pursuit of wealth exacerbates social inequality and deepens individual discontent. Consequently, both classes remain trapped in a cycle of dissatisfaction and exploitation, reflecting a critical view of capitalist society. This analysis sheds light on how economic ambitions drive a wedge between societal classes and foster a pervasive sense of unhappiness and greed in modern life.
