Abstract

Digital learning has become an inseparable part of the teaching and learning process. So the role of teachers in maximizing the use of multimodal learning is important to research. This research is descriptive research whose data is taken from interviews and reflections of Islamic Religious Education teachers. Islamic Religious Education Teachers emphasize the importance of multimodal digital learning tools in teaching, encouraging digital literacy and the use of social media platforms. They viewed the device as an effective tool, especially in integrating interactive and collaborative features, as well as ensuring accessibility for all students. In the assessment, the online quiz feature is considered effective in understanding student understanding. Even though technology supports it, the teacher's role remains central. Teachers also highlighted the mode of semiotic integration in the creation of learning content as crucial. The use of a variety of semiotic modes is thought to support student understanding, cater to a variety of learning styles, and increase engagement. This integration is considered important for students' multimodal literacy. Overall, the multimodal approach and semiotic integration mode are considered important in increasing students' understanding in learning Islamic Religious Education
