Abstract

Historicity is one of the crucial studies of everything that develops through history. The basic assumption is that each individual has a story that is managed holistically. Religion, as one of the historical components, has a field of study that simultaneously uses an exclusivity and holistic approach, namely mysticism. This paper will explore the basics of possible historicity from a mystical view. This research will use the mysticism of Ibn Arabi through the entrance of unity. This paper is written using a literature approach with the hermeneutical-philosophical method. Several scientific disciplines, such as philosophy of religion, history, tasawwuf, and cross-cultural studies, are also used to help confirm sectoral studies. This research shows that Islamic mysticism is all about mortality (fana). However, this view does not lead to nihilism but to a specific ethical scheme. The mortality that appears in the structure of Sufistic time shows that human existence resides within divine Truth. Thus, historicity has the basics of structural possibility with an exceptional degree in Islamic mysticism.
