PENAFSIRAN SUFISTIK AL-QUSYAIRI TERHADAP HURUF MUQATTA’AH DALAM TAFSIR LATAIF AL-ISYARAT

Abstract

Muqatta’ah  letters are separate letters that function as fawatih al-suwar (surah opening). These letters are not read like other letters because they do not have a vowel but are read by pronouncing the names of the letters. The purpose of this study is to describe and identify Imam al-Qusyairi's interpretation of the muqatta’ah  letters in the interpretation of Lataif al-Isyarat with the support of Bultman's hermeneutical theory. This research is qualitative research using a library research approach. The data analysis method used in this research is descriptive exploratory analysis. This research showed that al-Qusyairi interprets muqatta’ah  letters as symbols that characterize the names of Allah, Muhammad, and angels. Al-Qusyairi interpreted the muqatta’ah  letters by presenting the opinions of the ahlul ma'rifat scholars. Al-Qusyairi interpreted the muqatta’ah  letters with riyadah and purified himself to get the original meaning the letters.
