Abstract

The Indonesian English Proficiency Index (EPI) survey results have experienced a downward trend in rankings and points by 65 points over the past ten years. Furthermore, the 2018 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) survey results showed a downward trend of 26 points in literacy. Based on the results of the EPI survey, the results of Progress in International Reading Literacy Studies (PIRLS), and the results of the PISA, it appears that Indonesia is experiencing learning loss and a learning crisis at the same time. One of the causes of learning loss in Indonesia is the lack of learning resources to access the material in e-books. The aim of this research is to develop digital learning media and to know teachers' views about them. This research uses the R&D (Research and Development) method to develop a web-based platform that contains CEFR-based digitally illustrated English storybooks and activities for fostering multisensory learning. The research findings show that the CEFR-based digital illustrated English storybook is an interesting digital learning medium that allows students to be motivated to learn English. It can be seen from the scores of the experts' validations of the product,  which  obtained  a  total  score  of  82%.  In  addition,  this  research product is feasible to test on learning English at school
